USAID BEST supported the Jordan Trail Association in welcoming the first two to complete the entirety of the Jordan Trail in one go. The Jordan Handicraft Market, which began as part of the shopping festival in August, continued into October giving handicraft producers the opportunity to reach new markets. The Ministry of Tourism and USAID BEST continue consultations with regional stakeholders in regards to developing the National Tourism Strategy to improve Jordan’s tourism competitiveness over the next five years. USAID BEST continues to broaden the Pathways to Professionalism scheme throughout hotels in Jordan in partnership with stakeholders, and this month a ‘master trainer’ program was implemented for those overseeing training at the hotels implementing the program. The InterContinental Hotel Group Hospitality Training Academy was officially launched this month, standing as a catalyst to give youth around the Dead Sea area professional training within the hospitality industry.
